In Loving Memory
A Good Dog and a Long Road
Cinnamon was more than a dog. She was Randy’s companion, his comfort, and part of the quiet rhythm of his life. Her presence belonged to the road, the woods, the truck, the long miles, and the stories that came from all of it.
Randy has said that losing Cinnamon was one of the hardest losses he has ever faced. That kind of love does not end when a companion is gone. It stays. It becomes memory. It becomes part of the story.
Randy’s Facebook Post After Cinnamon Passed
“I recently had to say goodbye to my 8-year-old Labrador. I told people she was my American Express card. I didn't leave home without her. It is now I realize that I had the privilege to know the deepest of love because it is now that I feel the deepest pain. If people were more like dogs, this world would be a beautiful place.”
The image of Cinnamon in the truck, with Down by the Riverside on the door, feels like a piece of Randy’s journey captured in one moment — the road, the woods, the book, and the companion who was there through so much of it.
“Some journeys never really end.
They simply continue in memory.”
